Along Came ‘Wally’

Along Came Wally
He may not be the quickest. He may not be the strongest. He may not be the best defender or the best player on his team. But there is one thing that Wally Szczerbiak has proven to be. CONSISTENT! Although the 9-33 Seattle SuperSonics are still struggling to find their identity as a team, along with the best way to compliment their future all-star, Kevin Durant; there is a little reason for celebration. That reason being the recent play of Wally Szczerbiak. Logging inconsistent minutes to begin the season, Szczerbiak was unable to show how much of an asset he could truly be.

But with consistent minutes, came consistent stats. Wally has scored in double digits 21 times in the last 25 games, and has a 46% FG pct., a 41% 3pt pct., and an 84.5% FT pct. on the season. Like I said, he’s not the best defender or the best player on the roster, and he isn’t going to be the total answer to make the Sonics a winning team, but he has definitely proved to be the dependable, off-the-bench,  instant-offense player that most winning clubs are comprised of.(i.e. Manu Ginobili, Leandro Barbosa, and Jason Terry)

I’m sure he has long been taken by fantasy owners, especially in deep leagues, but if by chance he isn’t.. GRAB HIM NOW! His high shooting percentages and low turnovers make him a valuable aid to any trade; so if you’re considering making a big time deal, use him to help get what you want.
